[owncloud-user] Directory is Unavailable

Greetings,

I tried setting up an external storage point in ownCloud (8.1).
Realizing I did something wrong, I attempted to delete the entry whilst
the "working" spinning indicator was spinning. Upon trying to return to
my Files, the wheels spun for a while and gave the error message at the
top in a yellow box:

This directory is unavailable, please check the logs or contact the
administrator

I was able to pull the files off via the file manager to back them up.

What should I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have access to the HTTP server logs? If so, are there any
warnings or errors recorded at the time you received the "This
directory is unavailable" notice?

Er... the "Log" logs in the admin account? There's a couple huge blocks
of stuff about sabre.

Later on there's stuff like:

app":"PHP","message":"rmdir(\/tmp\/oc_tmp_7nnux1-folder\/): Directory
not empty at
\/var\/www\/owncloud\/lib\/private\/helper.php#472","level":3,"time":"2015-08-15T17:21:58-04:00"}

app":"PHP","message":"unlink(): No such file or directory at
\/var\/www\/owncloud\/lib\/private\/helper.php#468","level":3,"time":"2015-08-15T17:21:58-04:00"}

and

app":"PHP","message":"rmdir(\/tmp\/oc_tmp_7nnux1-folder\/news):
Directory not empty at
\/var\/www\/owncloud\/lib\/private\/helper.php#466","level":3,"time":"2015-08-15T17:21:58-04:00"}

Thanks ~

No, i meant the logs for the Web server software, on top of which
oC is running. It might be, for example, Apache, or Nginx.

When my oC setup recently started producing error messages, i
looked at the last several messages of the
/var/log/apache2/error.log file. The messages suggested that i
needed to increase the value of the PHP_FCGI_MAX_REQUESTS variable
in my php-wrapper script, and increase the values of
FcgidBusyTimeout and FcgidMaxRequestsPerProcess in
fcgid.conf. Making those modifications fixed the problem.

So if you can share any error messages that your Web server
software is producing, that might help to narrow down the issue.

Ah, OK. I see nothing of interest, well almost nothing really, logged
for the 15th, which is when things went south (that evening).

For the 16th, there's a slew of these:

[Sun Aug 16 20:48:02.500945 2015] [:error] [pid 14347] [client
192.168.1.14:32897] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912
bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in
/var/www/owncloud/apps/files_external/3rdparty/icewind/smb/src/RawConnection.php
on line 94, referer:
https://192.168.1.17/owncloud/index.php/settings/personal

All with varying PIDs and ports starting from 32897 (as above) to 40523,
which is the last entry in the error log (which is dated for today).

FWIW, I can access my files normally via my cell. It even still
auto-uploads shots.
